Study Login

After logging in, you will explore a new training environment - designed as a web shop - and try to detect privacy problems in it. Afterwards you will be guided through the problems and asked to reflect on them.

Browser setup: please do this first

The training environment deliberately contains elements that ad blockers and tracking protection would remove. With one of them active, parts of it will be missing and some of the problems become impossible to find.

  • Use a desktop browser, ideally Chrome or Firefox. Please do not use a phone or tablet.
  • Switch off ad blockers, content blockers and privacy extensions for this site (for example uBlock Origin, AdBlock, Ghostery, Privacy Badger).
  • Switch off built-in tracking protection for this site: in Firefox via the shield icon in the address bar, in Brave by lowering the Shields.
  • Avoid a private or incognito window, since these often block more by default.
  • Changed something? Reload this page before you log in.
Please read before you log in
  • The exploration time is limited . The clock starts as soon as you log in for the first time.
  • It cannot be repeated or restarted, so please only log in when you are ready.
  • Make sure you are in a quiet, low-distraction environment. If now is not a good time, simply come back to this page later.
  • Please do not use AI assistants for this part of the study (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, …). Use only the resources provided in the environment. In the later parts you are free to use them again.
